Saint Joseph's University is pleased to announce that Ralph Conte of Trenton, N.J., who recently graduated with a B.S. in mathematics, has joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps - Northwest.

This year, 34 members of Saint Joseph's Class of 2013 joined 11 local, national or international service programs that offer them the opportunity to work full-time for social justice causes. Placements include the Peace Corps, the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and ACESJU, the Alliance for Catholic Education at Saint Joseph's University. In addition, four alumni from earlier classes have enrolled in AmeriCorps' Teach for America or ACESJU. Time commitments to these programs range in duration from one to three years.

"As a Jesuit, Catholic university, Saint Joseph's mission inspires our students to serve a faith that does justice," says University President C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J., '72."This credo is modeled in our extraordinary Faith-Justice Institute service-learning and Campus Ministry community service programs, and informs all that we do at Saint Joseph's. I'm grateful and proud that these recent graduates have committed to spend this time in their lives serving others and the greater good."

Conte will work with Jesuit Volunteer Corps - Northwest in Tacoma, Wash.
